CONFUSED TOWNFOLK TERRORIZE INNOCENT FAMILY THANKS TO ONLINE IMBECILITY

"A family camping in the tiny town of Forks, Washington...was trapped at their campsite by felled trees after being harassed and followed by people who thought they were members of antifa...They were accosted by 'seven or eight carloads of people' in the grocery store parking lot. The people repeatedly asked if they were members of antifa...The family reportedly replied that they were just camping and swerved their vehicle around the cars to travel to the campsite. They said that a couple of the cars following them contained people armed with what seemed to be semi-automatic rifles...When they arrived at their campsite on a logging spur road, they reportedly heard gunshots and power saws in the distance. Spooked, they dismantled their tent and prepared to leave. They found their way blocked by felled trees..." Local students, perhaps aware that you can't believe everything you read on the internet, helped them clear the way and the family was escorted to the sheriff's office for interviews before they left town...

Apparently all this was sparked by a guy's utterly misinformed facebook videos suggesting that "antifa" was raiding small towns. Thanks to Trump, who's been using the non-group 'antifa' to try to distract people from the crisis, there's an internet hysteria on the right about antifa "terrorists". In fact, "antifa" as a group barely exists, and in some cases appears to be faked up by Russian ops.

This could have easily become a tragedy of violence. We are in an era of mass kneejerk, stupid, overreactions magnified by a mindless acceptance of anything on the internet that pushes Average Joe's personal buttons...
